Spot Consulting

A lower-cost version of our Strategic Planning Service, in which the Center's co-directors or one director and an associate spend one or two working days on site and render their recommendations and findings in a report or at the conclusion of the visit.

The assessment and fact-finding includes meeting as many interested parties, from as many varied viewpoints as possible, during the course of site reconnaissance. Planning and other relevant documents are reviewed beforehand. Municipal officials and community leaders are sought out for their opinions, as well as representatives of cultural institutions, preservation and environmental organizations and private property owners. A special illustrated presentation for the public, key community leaders and/or municipal staff optional at no extra charge.

Our report, 20 pages or more, plus references, resource listings and illustrations, usually dispatched within three weeks of the site visit.

• Time involved: One or two days on site, one day in travel.
• Team members: Center co-directors, or one director and one associate.
• Product: Report, with site analysis, recommendations for action, implementation strategies, reflections on the opportunity for private investment, infrastructure needed and events and interpretation possibilities. Generally a 20-page narrative, plus resource listings, references, illustrations.
• Option: Verbal report on site only.
